The Little Blue Pill

No, not the one Neo neglected to take before diving own the rabbit hole, but rather the miracle pill that men have had access to over the last few years.

I do not know if I have talked about this before, but if not I am now. For all those out there that do not know what I am talking about it is called Viagra. This is a miracle for some men who are having a problem in the erectile dysfunction area. To be plainer, it you can’t get it up, Viagra may be a help in that department.

Normally I would not talk about a particular drug, but this is one that both men and women can get behind, or in front of as the case may be. It does more than give a guy a good woody, it gives him back his self confidence and his masculinity. And if you do not think that those are two important things for men to have you are deluding yourself.

Personal case in point (so to speak): For the last few years I have been diagnosed with Diabetes. One unfortunate side effect in my case was a lack of a good erection. I was told that if I got my BGL in line and took the other medications that things would be better in the sex department. Well, they never did get better and after a while I began to wonder and eventually chalked the lack of sex up to getting old and health problems. Basically I resigned myself to a life of little or no sex. Then came the divorce.

Well, dating of course was a new priority and with that came sex, for I was sure that a partner was going to want it. As good as I am with other parts of my body there is nothing like honest to god intercourse for make you and your partner happy. So, I asked my doc… “Can you help out here?” And he wrote me a prescription for six tabs of Viagra to see if that would help.

Well, I soon had a chance to see, and you know what? Damn thing worked like it was supposed to and I had an experience in bed that I had not had in a long while. But that is not all it did for me.

For the next week I felt whole again. I felt on top of the world. I got my mojo back and was feeling better about myself than I had in a long while. I felt like a man again and it showed in everything I did.

You see, when man can’t perform in the bed (or out of it as well) he does begin to doubt his masculinity. Failure to perform is a kick in the balls and one delivered it to the “twins” by “Big Jim” himself. Not much you can do about that but let it eat at you. Eventually it eats away at you to the point that you doubt your very worth as a man. But the little blue pill can help.  And when it does help you get all the self esteem back, you get your worth back, and you feel like a man again.

I know that there are women out there that say that men should not need it, that they are hot enough to make him get it up and not to worry about it. But I got news for you women, that may not be the case. You may indeed be a mattress dancer of the highest caliber, but the problem is medical and not mental. Since sex happens mostly between the ears, the want to do you hard is not at issue, it’s the plumbing he has to have function. Women, there are some real hydraulics at work here, complicated stuff. If the balance of everything for a guy is not right, he’s not going to get it up, as much as he’d like to. And when that happens and you feel like you are less of a woman because you could not get him going, remember it was not you, it was a medical problem. So before you feel bad, remember that, and then do not feel like you are less of a person because he has to take a little blue pill to get it all going.

One of the things that Viagra does not do is to provide a libido. If the man does not want to have sex, taking the pill will not help (remember, sex is between the ears mostly.) Also there are other medical issues that would rule out using Viagra (see your doctor), but for many men with some problems it is a god send. The reason why it is the biggest selling drug short of Aspirin is because of the other effect, and not the hard on. It lets a man feel like a man again.

As an FYI: There are some common side effects that one should know about. They are: 1) Flushing of the skin (usually the face and chest) 2) Running or stuffy nose 3) Long Erections (this is serious and not to be laughed at it though it sounds ridiculous.) In the last case you are going to want to get to an emergency room ASAP (if your hard on lasts for four hours) and have them administer a counter agent (usually Narcan). After all, you do not want to loose your cock just because it was having too good of a time. Also, if you are taking ANY KIND OF HEART MEDICATION, tell you doctor. There are some drugs that will produce a synergistic and dangerous effect with Viagra, Cialis and Lavitra. If you have a heart attack while under the influence of these drugs be sure to tell your doctor, nurse, or emergency personnel immediately so they do not administer a Nitro Stray (common for heart attack patience). I mention these things as a due diligence so you all know as much as I do.

That all being said, if you are a guy with an issue like this, do ask your doctor about it and if it is cool, give it a try. If you are lucky and it works for you, you are going to feel like a million bucks. (Always consult a doctor before taking any medication.)

Out of Ink

I have a new rule here on AFF. I will not under any circumstances comment to people on my blog by entering a response comment.

Did you bloggers know that it was against the TOS to abuse your blog by commenting to people who comment? I did not, but appearently this is the case as I am learning right now. So, I guess if I am to keep this blog running, then I have to refrain from making comments on my own blog. I guess I can comment on other peoples blogs, but just not on my own.

I would suppose that we are going to see a lot of people locked out of their AFF accounts and the blogs summarily shut down now since commenting on ones own blog is such a common occurence. After all, it would not be fair to ban one AFF member and not bann all those others who committed the same agreis act. Would it?

In fact, I would suppose that this blog may very well be closed down very soon for my violation of the terms. If so, and if anyone see this, it is a shame that things may indeed be as unfair as they may seem to be.

Or, of course, there is the obvious, and that is that we are allowed to comment and hold a banter on the blog (part of the intent of a blog) and the banned user will get her account back and an appology for all the trouble.

So, if from here on in you do not see me commenting on my own blog, you will know why. But, I cannot see where I could not reply to you users by making another post. So, maybe I will work it that way.

So, to that banned user, and all those that ay be banned in the near future, myself being one of them, I hope to see you all around the net somewhere. And if you know me and want to communicate and know where I am doing my blogging, send me a private email and I will let you know.

BTW, you may find me at the name of my blog, elsewhere on the net.

This Masquerade

It is truly an amazing thing, the personas we portray. We all seem to be lost in a masquerade sometimes, putting up a front for everyone to see. Sometimes we are funny and other times we call for sympathy, but mostly we don a day to day mask that may not really be us.

I find that this blog, at least for me is the closest I come to being unmasked. Or should I say that I let my masks show more than I do in my daily life. I think that a lot of us bloggers are like that. In order to write what we write, some of us must bare who we are in ways that are unexpected, even to us.

A mask slips and we show that we are sensitive and emotional, something that co-workers, friends or even family may not know. Another costume falls and we show that we have a level of kink that we would not willingly show the outside world.

For me I know that some of this comes out in the short stories that I write, and more so in the erotica of late. Maybe this is revealing too much of myself, but I know, and only after I write it, that these words are me and if I harbor secret fantasies and longings they tend to reveal themselves though these creative words. In my longer stories I tend to reveal my ideology and these are much deeper and more scandalous (sometimes) than the fantasies that I pen.

Then there is the aspect of creating an illusion for ourselves through the writing. We do this by portraying ourselves as what we would ideally like to be. It is not the hard truth or reality, but is the divine truth of our longed for self image. And in this way, creating the illusion for the blog, we get to experience the allusion of the illusion. We revel in it, we accept the kudos, we pontificate from it, but when we leave the blog we ultimately are who we are. And being who we really are is the greatest illusion of all, for it is so perfect that we may even delude ourselves that this person, me, is who I want to be.

The illusions are many, the humorist, the intellectual, the physical, the spiritual, the metaphysical, the transcendental, and the list goes on. We are lost in a world of illusions, and there are zones here in blogland that are more shrouded in the illusions, and there are some that are less. For me, I hope that my blog is a representation of me as a less “intentionally” clouded place.

We all have out illusions, far be it for me to take away yours.

This Masquerade,
By George Benson & Leon Russell

Are we really happy with this lonely game we play
Looking for words to say
Searching but not finding understanding anyway
We’re lost in this masquerade

Both afraid to say we’re just too far away
From being close together from the start
We tried to talk it over but the words got in the way
We’re lost inside this lonely game we play

Thoughts of leaving disappear
every time I see your eyes
No matter how hard I try
To understand the reason why
we carry on this way
We’re lost in a masquerade

We could just start over
but it’s oh so hard to do
When you’re lost in a masquerade

Got to Get it Done

Well, now there is more pressure on me to get this site done and running. I have several people who want to blog on here and like I always say “The More The Merrier”. So it is on to the work for the evening which is getting the sidebar figured out and the spellchecking added back to the posting options. Turns out the this is a google add in and I like that for some reason. Probably because Google will know the site and take a look from time to time.

Speaking of google, I know they have been looking, I see it in the refer list… so that is a good thing. Don’t mind the band width for the listings.

Onward to action.

Third Try

Well, I have come a long way in just one day for a new domain and setting it up and re-editing the main template. There is a lot to go, but I have done a whole heap for one day and that bodes well for getting this site up and running pretty quick.

Here are the issues that I am going to tackle next (again):

1) Format the blog entries better
2) Add the Mood
3) Work out the Adult Content
4) Work out the footer better
5) Add the entry icons
6) Debug the email problems if any
7) Work out an entry page for Multi-Blog
8) Work out the security for Multi-Blog
9) Finish base templates
10) Upload a ton more basic templates for users
11) Where is spell checking?
12) Add more moods
13) More More More I am sure....

There you have it. Comment to this post if you have suggestions.

Thanks

Welcome to Miasma Of Musings

So, here I am and on a new domain, for those who have been following this is the thord stab at the blog and hopefully the last. My last ISP (YAHOO) could not seem to handle the simplest of webs and dumped the previous versions of the site, so now I am forced to start over again from scratch. Not fun, not fun.

But on the good side, this ISP seems to understand that a customer may need support from time to time and has a very good support ticket system and some responsive tech, one that I can even get in the phone!

So, if you are looking for hosting, I recommend bluehost.com for now, they seem to know their stuff. I have even added on three additional domains and guess what… they all work… INCREDIBLE.

So, here we go again, one more configure of EE and Miasma of Musings. Stick Around for the fun as I work it up one more time.

Hubris of God Before Man

THIS ENTRY IS AN OPINION: If you are religiously close-minded then I would suggest that you DO NOT read this post. This post contains thoughts that are counter to MANY organized doctrines and could be taken as an attack on an individuals’ faith. This post is in fact not an attack on organized religion, but rather an analysis on the way we view religion and the morals and ethics that spring from them.

Does anyone find that it is very ironic that if god gave man free will that he would then limit that freedom with the commandments? Which is it? Free will or limited will as dictated by a set of 613 commandments? (Yes, there are actually 613 commandments even though the top 10 get all the press. Ask you priest, minister or rabbi, it is true. In fact, the Judaic Bible, the Torah (the five books of Moses or Pentateuch), when you convert the Hebrew letters into numbers (Hebrew uses its’ letter as numbers as well) it is the number 613, for the 613 commandments.) Interesting really, the Bible is nothing more than a great list of restrictions of freedoms that we are supposed to cherish. Yes it is dressed up in some really interesting stories and lots of sex (all the begetting and begatting) and parables and stuff, but really, it is just a great list of restrictions.

Yet here we are in a world (well at least the western society) that creates its’ laws based on the idea that the Bible is a guide for moral living. But is it really? Or should we as a society be willing to throw away the long held biblical beliefs for some more modern idea of what it is that can safely and peacefully hold a society together?

I think that in part we are trying to do so. In fact you can look at the moral divide in this country and know how people would stand on that statement right off. The Left is for looking into new ideas about morals and ethical living, the Right is holding tight to the biblical tenets that are already set forth, and looking to expand them.

But here is we have another question, if god let man have free will and man was the actual author of the Bible (ok, I will give you through proxy here for the sake of avoiding the divine revelation problem) could man then write what they wanted or slant the writing the way they wanted. Man is after all fallible and it is possible that there may have been some not all together altruistic motivation behind the words. (For those who are fans of the King James Bible, its ever word was confirmed with prayer, I should remind you that Martin Luther was not happy with it, and ultimately we have the same problem after all.)

Now we call into play the value of the Bible as the literal word of God. Therefore what is the point in using it as the basis of a moral and ethical code. After all, there are other codes of ethics that we live by. Doctors take the Hippocratic Oath to do no harm (Hypocrites was not basing his code on the Bible) and then there is the Code of Hammurabi, good if a tad outdated (said with a wide grin). That is not even going into Eastern philosophies that seen by a neutral observer could be considered more civil and progressive.

So, who is really doing the commanding around here, Man or God. If it is God, then where is the updated commandment tell us that indeed we do have free will to decide for ourselves how we should morally and ethically run our lives? I’m waiting…

I find it interesting that the Right would have a hard time dealing with a community of people who ascribed to true free will. I would be certain that many of the members of AFF would find such a community appealing. But it would not fit in with the society at large and thus would be relegated to “commune” status. We saw this happen during the late 60’s and early 70’s. They did not fair well.

But what would a society look like that ascribed to free will? Well it would look a lot like anarchy for the first few years. If we were to start such a movement today and abolish all laws there would be a bloody mess for a while. But things would eventually shake out. There would indeed be a rule. That rule would be a very simple one, “Do unto others as you would have done unto you.” Yes, it is a golden rule after all, but the result would be Darwinian in the extreme. Those who could not adapt and survive with this one simple rule would wind up dead. Those around poor dead Fred you find that the rule is self-enforcing and would learn by his example.

Over time however new rules would be adopted naturally. These new rules could then be codified, but not for the purposes of enforcement, but as record. The world would look completely different in three generations and may be a more peaceful and safer place to live. Now who is writing the new commandments?

If all religion was invented to give comfort to those who could not handle the unexplainable, then religion would be turned on its’ ear as a new paradigm is erected in it’s place. I do not know what that new paradigm would be but I could guess.

If I were to guess what the new paradigm replacing religion would be I would have to say science. The trust and faith in science would replace the long outdated beliefs of 2000 years and offer it’s more modern approach (and one would have to assume flexible) to living in this modern world. There are scientists working on these very issues though I suppose you would not hear much about that. It is after all contrary to the Bible so the airtime would be limited.

God gave man free will and thus resigned himself to second place in terms of the hierarchy of heaven. If god were bound by the rules he has offered as bait for humans to swallow, then he could not possible rule. And since he has ultimately unbound man then man will eventually do as he wants and gods word will fade. It is the hubris of God to think that he can cork his own creation in the long run. Besides, I do not see any evidence that he has been enforcing even the shallow rules he “set down”.

Looks to me like man will ultimately rein in heaven, even if it is upon this Earth.

Note: If you are asking why this entry could possibly pertain to a site like AFF, well let me make it clear. The Right are not real happy about people who are sexually promiscuous. The fact that a site like this exists at is not really to their liking. Sexual morality and sexual ethics would obviously be part of the change in society as it progresses, thus this entry has everything to do with AFF and it’s members.

Note: I am not say that we should disband the government right now or enact civil unrest or even not give our wholehearted support for our civil government. I am postulating on things that may happen in the future and a basis for that action. The end of the world is not coming any time soon, I do not hear trumpets blowing. So, stay calm and watch as the world shapes itself around us. And if you wish to exacerbate change, do so within the laws and rules set out by today’s society. It’s safer that way and you will not end up in jail.
