A TrackBack is a way for websites to talk to each other. Say a person on website A (the blogger) wants someone on website B to know something, you set a TrackBack ping and that let the other website know there is something there to look at. Simple.

Pictures for avatars and Photos for Profiles are limited to 50k (kilobits, not gigabits) in size and 100x100 pixels in size. To fill the area be sure the image is cropped to a perfect square, the program will resize to 100x100.
Images for entry Icons (the images you see with the blog entries, are limited to 100 pixel width, but any height. When you go to upload those you will be asked if you want to resize. Yes, resize the image. Enter 100 Pixels in the width, and the height will take care of itself. Next click on the "Resize Original" so that your local operator will not run out of space so fast. Click resize. Then Click the Place and Close window button and the entry icon will be placed.
Pro-Tip: For those blogging, you can see the actual link for the Entry Icon by clicking the "Entry Icon URL" heading in the Publish or Edit Page of your control panel. You can tweak the tag there if you need to.
